Instructor Profiles

Lene Rachel Andersen is a renowned Danish philosopher and thought leader. Her insights are informed by both science and human understanding, enabling impactful learning experiences.

She is a full member of the Club of Rome, President of the Copenhagen based think tank Nordic Bildung, and co-founder of the Global Bildung Network. She is also an economist, author, futurist, philosopher and bildung activist, who wrote comedy for Danish television while she studied theology for four years. Her more than 20 books focus on technological development, big history, the future of humanity, and how to educate for it. For her books, she has received two Danish democracy awards: Ebbe Kløvedal-Reich Democracy Baton (2007) and Døssing Prisen, the Danish librarians’ democracy prize (2012). Among her books are The Nordic Secret (2017 & 2024), Polymodernity (2019), Bildung (2020), What is Bildung? (2021), and Libertism (2022).

Chris Shern is a cultural adventurer. Raised in the US Midwest, he has lived and worked internationally for over 25 years.  He worked for Scandinavian Airlines for many years in various leadership roles across three continents, giving him a unique “outsider on the inside” perspective to Nordic Leadership. He has also worked with executive education and leadership development as Managing Director of IME, A Danish business foundation. He co-authored “Return of the Vikings – Nordic Leadership in Times of Extreme Change” an inspirational book for Managers & Executives seeking inspiration in the trust-based Nordic approach to leadership.
